A joyful day in Patos

It was wonderful to celebrate 30 years of the life of the church in Patos last weekend. The church was packed in the morning as we had a special service of thanksgiving for what God has done during these last 30 years.

Adriatik Toska, who was instrumental in the life of the church in the early years, preached very clearly and practically on what prayer is from the first line of the Lord’s prayer. He reminded us that the Patos church has always been a church of prayer. They prayed for a building and God supplied it. They prayed for a married couple with children and in Murray and Fey Cotter God fulfilled their need. They have prayed for many needs over the years and God has been gracious in answering prayer wonderfully.
Stephen Bell, the first missionary of the church, brought some wonderful memories of how the church started and Stuart Rowell of ECM brought his memories of the church through the years too. It was wonderful to hear from Ervin Bregu, a longstanding member of the church, about how he experienced the early days of the church and we enjoyed listening to greetings from church members who have emigrated and from good friends overseas.

After the service we gathered again in the afternoon to enjoy a bring and share meal together which was a very joyous occasion. We also shared the Lord’s Supper and reminded ourselves that it is He and He alone who will keep us until Christ returns (1 Corinthians 1:7-8).

We thank God for all that He has done in these last years and covet your prayers for all that is to come! Pray for gospel conversions in the town. Pray for workers for the children’s and youth work. Pray that believers would grow and mature. Pray for Bledi as the full time worker that he would grow in grace and wisdom and be fruitful in all that he does. Pray too for elders and deacons for this church.
